Today at 12:30 noon today, my friend had her mastectomy. She got out of surgery, she said, at 4:30 PM. I talked with her about 7:30 PM. The first thing she said, on my answering machine, was that her sentinel lymph nodes were clear! That is the best news because that means the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else! I was so relieved I felt like crying. It was so great to talk with her later when I called her back.
The hospital where she had the surgery is keeping her for 2 nights. I only stayed in the hospital 1 overnight. I'm pointing that out because that just shows you, there is no one right way on this cancer surgery thing!
I am so relieved!!
